HINCKLEY UNITED v YORK CITY
|
York City boss Martin Foyle is considering making changes for their FA Trophy first round tie at Hinckley United. Foyle certainly has plenty of options with the likes of Adam Smith, Andy Ferrell and Michael Gash waiting for an opportunity as the visitors chase a club record ninth successive victory. And they could be given a chance to make their mark this weekend as a number of their team-mates are closing in on potential bans.
Midfielder Neil Barrett is only one game caution away from a suspension, while David McGurk, Levi Mackin and Chris Carruthers are within two bookings. Top scorer Richard Brodie is currently on six yellow cards and would receive a two-game ban should he reach ten. |
| OXFORD UNITED v YORK CITY |
York City kick-off their sixth season in the Conference by travelling to Oxford United this weekend. Manager Martin Foyle will have Michael Ingham, Michael Gash, Michael Rankine and Craig Nelthorpe available despite them being arrested earlier this week following an incident early on Sunday morning. Gash and Nelthorpe - who has avoided suspension after being sent-off at AFC Halifax last week - are both struggling for full fitness, while fellow new arrivals Alan O'Hare and Djoumin Sangare have also experienced an interrupted pre-season programme. |

AFC HALIFAX 3 YORK CITY 1
|
Craig Nelthorpe was sent-off in 3-1 pre-season friendly defeat at AFC Halifax. Richard Marshall's volley beat Michael Ingham at his near post on nine minutes before the visitors levelled after Michael Rankine claimed his first goal for the club midway through the opening half.
Halifax still went into the break in the ascendancy when James Dean converted Scott Phelan's inviting ball into the area ten minutes before the interval.
Ryan Crossley then increased their advantage when heading in Tom Baker's free-kick before Nelthorpe was sent-off for an elbow on former City defender Mark Hotte ten minutes from time.

PACQUETTE GRABS TREBLE
|
York City striker Richard Pacquette grabbed a hat-trick in a 4-1 friendly victory at neighbours Selby Town. Recent signing Pacquette also saw a penalty saved, while the visitors' fourth was an own goal.
Former Oxford United winger Craig Nelthorpe appeared for almost an hour following his recovery from illness. |
